One thing I take full responsibility for is that I use Garamond --- a serif font, which was designed for print, and looks poorly unless display has a very high resolution. That explains why the bottom of o is missing.
However, there's a second thing which I can not really explain -- the contrast is very low. Here's how this looks for me on Windows in Edge and Chrome:
Comparing our screenshots, I think the right one is what you are seeing (the resolution is the same).
I don't know if its just me, but I found your blog difficult to read.
