Expected behaviour

I have activated "save session" under dconf so I would expect that when starting a new session after reboot caja should open with the same tabs as last session

Actual behaviour

Sometimes caja won't open after startup.

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

I think it might be related with new updates as I posted here:
https://github.com/mate-desktop/caja/issues/1045
But I am not sure it is 100% related. It also could happen if I take a few minutes to login

MATE general version

Mate 1.18.0-1+sonya
Caja 1.18.5-1+sonya

Linux Distribution

Linux Mint 18.3 Mate

You do nood to log out and back in before you can start saving sessions, as the session can only be saved when it is started with session saving turned on

Session it is turned on. My point is that sometimes, for some reason, caja won't open at startup, even thought it was opened with several tabs at the moment of turning the computer off.
For the last three days caja won't start, no matter what.
Any ideas why this might be happening? I have been experiencing this behavior for a few months trying to detect what triggers it but still have no idea why

Does turning session saving off make Caja start reliably? If not, than the problem is somewhere else. An unresponsive mount can do this, as can a permissions issue with ~/.cache/dconf/user

Tried turning session saving off and Caja didn't start (nor did any of the other programs that were opened in previous session). What would be the right permissions for ~/.cache/dconf/user?
