It would be nice if we could specify a cap for the dashes independent of the stroke-linecap. For instance, a line with stroke-linecap=round and stroke-dashcap=butt would give something like:

 ___    ___    ___
(___|  |___|  |___)

This is useful for implementing things like the two intermittent casings in these unpaved roads:
