Local Language text not appearing on label

When simply switching the default from name_en to name, causes all the foreign countries to appear as [x][x][x]. As seen in the picture, it's clearly seen that the point data shows the actual text for the language but it doesn't cross over to displaying it...

I'm using a Linux machine & using Mapbox Studio Classic where I started a new style and choose one of the default options.
