Low fidelity appearance of the globe can remain stuck

There can be cases where after panning the map around, a lower fidelity version (due to texture magnification?) sticks around without labels:

This low fidelity appearance also renders incomplete in the southern hemisphere where land faked by the water layer in streets should not appear
