Does gittar depend on git to work?

I have used the awesome degit from Rich Harris, and included it on my little framework to allow the installation of optional modules. What I don't realized was that it depends on git.

As degit, does gittar depend on git to be installed to work?

Nope! Pure HTTP and filesystem reads/writes.

The trade-off (now at least) is that gittar only works on branch and tag levels. IIRC, degit goes to the commit level.

Maybe I'll revisit this module is near future and add some more control. It's pretty old now 😉
