Communication: Deleting combined emojis not working properly

Describe the bug

Typing an emoji such as 🇩🇪, and then deleting it, causes a "🇩" to appear instead of fully deleting the emoji.

To Reproduce

1. Go to course
2. Go to the communication tab
3. Go to a channel
4. Type a combined emoji such as 🇩🇪
5. Delete it
6. See that it is not fully deleted

Expected behavior

When deleting the emoji, the full emoji should be deleted and no other characters should appear.
