The title says it all. I want to convert many m4a files to ogg but I'm getting a high failure rate. All my m4a's were created by nero with the same settings (afaik)!
Unfortunately I cannot attach examples of audio here.

Hello,

which version of LameXP are you using? Can you provide MediaInfo report of the affected files?

In the latest LameXP release, i.e. v4.16 (Build #2134), there are two known problems:

  • LameXP v4.16 does not detect "raw" AAC files (plain ADTS stream, not MP4 container) correctly
  • Latest version of FAAD, as used by LameXP v4.16, fails to decode MP4 files containing video stream

Problem #1 is already fixed for the upcoming LameXP release. Problem #2 is not really a problem in LameXP itself, but in FAAD tool. However, if problem #2 will not be fixed in FAAD anytime soon, I will have to revert LameXP to an older version of FAAD. You can try the latest Alpha release of LameXP for now:

LameXP-ALPHA.2018-07-06.Release-Static.Build-2144.exe

Should be fixed in LameXP v4.17 RC-4.
