Idea for Bots on other Accounts #932
Comments
Sorry that's not possible. But if this will be possible to use other Chars as bots without having in your guild will be nice. |
About first question i belive that not. Also friend list working (and its supported in multibot addon). Create guild and add members using GM commands i very fast. Example: .guild invite Rocket "For the Horde" Without GM creating guild too should not be hard. Only reduce char required signatures. And invite bots to group. That all. I have ~30 playerbots on 4 accounts (my account using only for my characters) and dont have any problems. |
You're right for GMS, it's super easy. Normal players have to create the guild, then be online with the guild master and log into the account at the same time and bring the bot online, then invite and accept with the bot. Then log out and repeat with the next one. I'm sorry but I find it quite tedious. I've also since found out that there is no way to check the friends list in either the core or the Playerbot module. That's purely a client thing. That's exactly why I edited and refined the above post. Of course a test server has no problems with that. I host one for myself, my wife and a few friends and the variant I described would be much more pleasant. I'm trying to implement something like that but unfortunately I'm not a programmer and I have to get a lot of help and am making very slow progress. |
The only method to summon and control bots from another account is to use guilds right?
extremely complicated to set up.
Many many steps and you have to be online with two accounts to invite them in the guild.
A method to link a bunch of accounts together will be nice. So you make one account as the master. This account is for your player characters. And then you create an account named like yours with _bots at the end only for your bots.
Now the request link feature comes in. You link the accounts together and now you are able to use all Chars on the bot account as your Playerbots. Or the name is the link. All accounts that are named like the master account with _bot1-4 will be automatic linked together. Or the server will create four bot accounts itself when you create a player account.
Four because a full group need fife players. You are that player plus four bots per character. An account can safe ten characters.
10 playerchars * 4 bots = 40 bots you need to max one account out.
The accounts also could share the master accounts passwords and are blocked to change this. Only the master account can do that and the password will automatically be set to the bot accounts.
With this it should be very easy to make and manage bots in a separate bot account. Especially for new gamers.
I find it very unpleasant to have players and bots on the same account. You have less space for characters and even less for the bots. Sure you can make more accounts but this is unpleasant to.
If any of you find this idea good and can code, I will love you if you implement such a feature. ❤️
