Describe the bug
There are some packages that show wrong size before downloading them. I'm not talking about flatpak ones because that's still the issue with flatpak backend. Link is in the topic posted later.

I'm posting this here now, because exact post in linux mint github discussion didn't get resolved up to this time: https://github.com/orgs/linuxmint/discussions/103

Screenshots
Zrzut ekranu z 2024-11-06 15-57-18
Before applying update it shows 2MB and during the update the progress shows 39MB + 14MB + 113MB

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Use Mint update manager
  2. Enable the size column to be visible
  3. Wait for linux firmware update
  4. Observe linux firmware update size
  5. Update linux firmware
  6. See how it exceeds the given before size

Expected behavior
Mintupdate showing exact and full update size of all packages.

Distribution:

  • Linux Mint
  • LMDE
  • Other (please specify)

Software version:
6.1.5
