Is it appropriate to annotate Java classes with access, datastore, etc? #7

This seems maybe not very relevant to code. Maybe better to hand edit for now. Or maybe just add an annotation because annotations are cheap.

Probably a better solution is #16 but no reason both can't coexist.

To have these coexist it would be better to refactor things such that these comes from a reflector, and we can use multiple reflectors such as one that just reads existing metadata
