I think this is a misprint from Sony factories that was picked up in the redump dump. Ie redump site shows the correct serial, but the cd data has the wrong one. The only way to avoid this is to special case this serial to have another distinguishing test in the scanner when using serial scanning. |
This was also reported many times. The first time here: Basically, as long as RetroArch scanner refuses to acknowledge that Sony screwed up and do a fallback, there is nothing anyone can do, since this is NOT redump fault. They report the corrected number, it's just that the factory printed the wrong number into the cd. I use the manual scanner for this among other reasons, sometimes the publisher or the dumping groups screw up, and RetroArch ditching checksums for being too slow for large collections (not amortized to chd) means that just name scanning is the best alternative (except for mame where the filenames have no relation to the game name.) |
