• stp : basic simulation output from geant4, "steps".
• "step grouping": grouping of the steps for each channel based on the relevant time-scale of the experiment. Produces the hit table. This adds a dimension to the output (the hit index), and sets the length of the output table
• evt: combine the information from multiple channels
• "geant4 event": the simulated event in geant4, with index g4_evtid the index of the simulated event, can correspond to multiple hits in the detector (eg. decay chain)
• evt": a physical event in the full detector, combining information from multiple channels
