is it because the major contributor @tebeka moved to Isreal?

Indeed I moved to Israel. However I know the meetups keep going. If you'll give me github of current meetup hosts I'll add them.

there's no more:

https://www.meetup.com/Los-Angeles-Gophers/ (or can say the frequency of new meetups has dropped drastically, more than 10 meetups in 2015, only 3 in 2016 and not single in 2017); is there a current organizer also on gitub?

I think I have the keys, if a new organizer comes up - I'll pass them on :)
(There's also a twitter account IIRC)

I took over from tebeka and then passed this off to a new organizer in early 2016 (https://www.meetup.com/Los-Angeles-Gophers/members/1131067/)
