I've been playing around with adding faux-italic variants to a bdf-sourced font I maintain using mkitalic from mkbold-mkitalic, however, some of the glyphs lose a pixel
|{ on the edge, depending on the width of the glyph and the direction of the slant. Given that this software is already capable of outputting to formats with kerning, I was wondering if it would be possible to incorporated this functionality into bitsnpicas alongside -b (faux-bold), perhaps with an -o (faux-oblique) flag?
A cursory glance at the LICENSE file for mkbold-mkitalic looks like it should be compatible.
