In #3943 (comment) there is a hint to Ray Charles as the default ZIM file.

Why don't you create a default ZIM file related to kiwix and Wikipedia?

I thought of at least of the english wikipedia pages "kiwix" (available in 46 other languages), "Wikipedia" (312 languages) and ZIM (16 languages). Maybe it is possible to include every language that page is available at.

If the ZIM file may be bigger: Internet-in-a-box, Raspberry Pi and it related pages.

Maybe there could be an automatically created, alphabetically sorted overview page of all languages, For every language a page with the available pages could be created.

However the minimal solution with 3 pages in english plus an start page linking to the three pages would imho be better than Ray Charles.

Text proposal for the start page, just to get a clue:

Welcome to kiwix. This app includes a minimal ZIM file with 3 pages in english. For offline viewing you need to download the appreciated content first. Available pages:

  • Kiwix
  • Wikipedia
  • ZIM (file format)

Even a manual how to use kiwix could be included.

Which problem would that fix?
