Hello. I met a problem that I can not build my project if I try to set matplotlib as requirement.
I think this is known issue, and I have seen probable fixes in last commits in dev branch. But I still can not build my project. Can somebody help me, please? Maybe I am doing something wrong?

Hard to tell without having more info (buildozer.spec file or the full log), but I suspect what is your problem...

You probably make use of latest stable version of buildozer, but the thing is that buildozer default behavior is to make use of python-for-android's master branch (which not includes the matplotlib fix yet), so you should instruct buildozer to use our develop branch. To do so, you must edit your buildozer.spec file, look for the following commented entry: #p4a.branch = master and modify it to p4a.branch = develop (noting that you must uncomment it, of course). Once you have done this, make sure that you remove your previous build attempts:

rm -rf ~/.buildozer

Note: this command will also remove all downloaded packages by buildozer, but this way You will be sure that you are starting from scratch since we have some issues when trying to reuse previous builds, under certain circumstances, so I'm just being cautious. But if you want to keep your downloaded packages you may run the command: buildozer android clean instead of the remove command mentioned before. Anyway, You may want to consider this last option... if you have an slow internet connection 😉

As a side note: Our develop branch is working with Python 3.8.1 and we still haven't fully tested it, so we may have some undetected issues with some recipes, not the case for matplotlib or kiwisolver, we know that these recipes are working...at least at some basic level...let us know

Thanks! After doing so, I still can't build my app:
[INFO]: Will compile for the following archs: armeabi-v7a
[INFO]: Found Android API target in $ANDROIDAPI: 27
[INFO]: Available Android APIs are ()
[ERROR]: Build failed: Requested API target 27 is not available, install it with the SDK android tool.
Issue will be closed, but couldn't you help me with this too?
How can I install appropriate version of API, or which I should to use instead? I'm new to buildozer and python-for-android.
Thanks a lot!

List as sections

You can define all the "list" as [section:key].

Each line will be considered as a option to the list.

Let's take [app] / source.exclude_patterns.

Instead of doing:

#[app]
#source.exclude_patterns = license,data/audio/.wav,data/images/original/

This can be translated into:

#[app:source.exclude_patterns]
#license
#data/audio/.wav
#data/images/original/

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Profiles

You can extend section / key with a profile

For example, you want to deploy a demo version of your application without

HD content. You could first change the title to add "(demo)" in the name

and extend the excluded directories to remove the HD content.

#[app@demo]
#title = My Application (demo)

#[app:source.exclude_patterns@demo]
#images/hd/*

Then, invoke the command line with the "demo" profile:

#buildozer --profile demo android debug
`
