metadata editor: Question mark cannot be inserted with shift key #5819
Comments
I cannot reproduce this error in the current master branch: Bildschirmaufnahme.2023-10-24.um.14.32.16.mov(I used the shift key in Chrome on MacOS) |
Thanks! Maybe the reason is our old version of Kitodo.Production. Still, it would be interesting, if it works on Windows as well. Probably some users can give feedback here. |
Did not work on Linux with Firefox on 3.6.0-SNAPSHOT from 03/01/2023 too. I'm unable to enter the question mark sign in any input field in the meta data editor. Was there any changes from 03/01/2023 until 3.6.0 release in September 2023 which can cause this issue? |
@henning-gerhardt none that I am aware of. Could it be that you changed some metadata editor shortcuts and used "shift" + "ß" for something else? You can check your metadata editor shortcuts under "User menu" -> " "User data & settings" -> "Metadata editor" -> "Change keyboard shortcuts" |
I'm not aware that it is possible to define short keys :-o So I did not change them or assign any short keys. |
Okay, this are the default (?) short keys for my user account: After deleting all of them I'm able to enter the question mark in the meta data editor! After adding this keys back I think that the "Shift Minus" from "Hilfe anzeigen" was the short key which prevent the entering of the question mark for me. @andre-hohmann : Is removing the short key for "Hilfe anzeigen" or all of the short keys helpful? |
@henning-gerhardt , @solth : Thanks for your investigations! Applying I close the issue, because nothing needs to be done. |
I'm reopening this ticket because I've heard that several users have stumbled upon it. We should make it a different default for new installations so that it works automatically. I think it would be a good idea to distribute F1 for the information dialog as a new preset. |
