Does not render .ico image files

Currently, it is not rendering ICO files. It works if I convert the file to a PNG. This is an issue because I'm having to request from my server, download a favicon, convert to a PNG and provide the favicon as a PNG to render it. This is adding quite a lot of latency, meaning I have to aggressively cache.

Are you not maintaining this at all? If that's the case, a note in the README saying this is abandoned would be great.
