Hello,

I just wanted to inform you, that Gnome has this feature built in now.
Go to Settings -> Notifications -> Select any application -> Enable "Show notification details on banner"

I am not sure when they implemented this. I could not find any news on that.
I just found it by chance.
I am using Gnome 42.2

Thanks for letting me know! I will test it out!

Still, an option to expand the details for all notifications would be handy to have.

Of course, I will check the current issues and fix them. This extension will stay available.

If this setting is the one also known as "Show Message Content in Popups", then it's been available since at least GNOME 3.32 (which I have running in a VM right now), and its dconf key is /org/gnome/desktop/notifications/application/<app_name>/force-expanded.

Unfortunately, it only expands notification popups, and leaves notifications in the message tray un-expanded.
