I am experiencing an issue where JupyterLab does not prompt for permission to control other applications when using xlwings on my M2 macbook pro. This issue prevents me from accessing and modifying other files through xlwings within JupyterLab. This issue does not occur, when using VS Code, which prompts the permission and allows to write "Hello world" in the first cell in excel.
Reproduce
To reproduce the issue, please follow these steps:
Launch JupyterLab on macOS.
Execute the following code snippet in a Jupyter notebook:
importxlwingsasxw# Start Excelapp=xw.App()
# Create a new workbookwb=xw.Book()
# Add some data to the first cell of the first sheetwb.sheets[0]['A1'].value="Hello, world!"# Save and closewb.save('Test.xlsx')
wb.close()
# Quit Excelapp.quit()
Context
Operating System and version: Ventura 13.4.1 (M2 Pro)
JupyterLab-Desktop version:3.6.1
Installer: dmg
Troubleshoot Output
