JN 7.0.2 Hotkey for copying cells from one notebook to another is not working

Hello,

Ctrl+Shift+C is not working anymore to me to copy selected cells to another notebook. In fact it is assigned to open the Command Palette bar

I have not found any notice about this in the documentation.

Is there a secret hotkey for it?

Hello,
I use Jupyter Notebook 7.0.3 on Linux Ubuntu 22.04. I normally prefer working in Jupyter Notebook and not Jupyter Lab. The issue is that when I work in Jupyter Notebook I cannot copy and paste selected multiple cells from one notebook to another one using either command Crtl+C / Ctrl+V or just C / V. Please fix it to allow copying multiple cells in a group from one notebook to another. Thank you.

Since the new Notebook 7 is based on JupyterLab, it might be something that will need to be fixed in JupyterLab.

On Ubuntu with Firefox and Chrome, Ctrl-Shift-C opens the dev tools:

So this hotkey likely works on MacOS only?

Could you try if this works in JupyterLab, and if it doesn't open the issue on the JupyterLab repo (https://github.com/jupyterlab/jupyterlab)? That way Notebook 7 could also get the fix if it ends up being implemented in JupyterLab.

Hello @shen-spb,
As a workaround, launching your Jupyter Notebooks inside the same Jupyter Lab tab allows you to copy/paste multiple cells across notebooks. To do this:
Select Cell and press Esc to go to command mode
Hit Shift + Up or Shift + Down to select multiple cells
Copy with C (Don't press Ctrl)
Paste with V (make sure to be in command mode)

This works on,
jupyterlab : 4.0.11
notebook : 7.0.8
