Different enumerations according to the levels in nested ordered list

If I use the following nested ordered list in an md file

1.  item 1

2.  item 2

    1.  sub item 1

    2.  sub item 2

        1.  ssub item 1

        2.  ssub item 2

In github, the enumeration will be done according to the nest levels

1. item 1

2. item 2

   1. sub item 1

   2. sub item 2

      1. ssub item 1

      2. ssub item 2

but in jupyterbook, the output will be in the original enumeration form

Is there a way to make this behaving like that in github?
