On the iPhone 15 Pro Max(iOS 18), the wide-angle lens is not utilized for the camera, even though this lens supports macro photography and would be ideal for barcode scanning. The wide-angle lens should be enabled to ensure optimal focus and detail in close-up scans.

We need to add more options for the desired camera for this kind of thing. There have been feature requests for this in the past.

Keeping this open for tracking.

Hi,

why do you think the ultra wide camera is not turn on? I guess when I go closer to an object (prox. 20cm) ultra wide camera is turned on... and text is very good readable even if I go close to like 3cm...
