Bazzite Linux

Bazzite Linux is an OCI image designed as an alternative operating system for the Steam Deck and a SteamOS-like environment for desktop and home theater PCs. Built on Fedora technology, it includes features like expanded hardware support, built-in drivers, HDR in Game mode, and a variety of pre-installed tools for gaming and multimedia.

Differences from Common Fedora

Bazzite Linux differs from common Fedora in several ways:

  1. Gaming Optimization: Includes specialized kernels, drivers, and tools for gaming.
  2. Pre-installed Software: Comes with gaming and multimedia tools like LatencyFleX, vkBasalt, and OBS VkCapture.
  3. Hardware Support: Enhanced support for gaming hardware, including Xbox controllers, AMD ROCM, and DisplayLink.
  4. User Interface: Custom themes from SteamOS and specialized UI elements for gaming and multimedia.
  5. Automatic Updates: Uses tools like ublue-update and topgrade for automatic updates of the OS, Flatpaks, and Distrobox containers.
