I suggest mentioning this command in the section "https://github.com/ionic-team/ionic-storage#sqlite-installation":

npx ionic capacitor sync

I was following the instructions in the README trying to use SQLite on ios. I kept getting "asyncStorage" as storage.driver in the iPhone emulator. After running the command above I am now getting "cordovaSQLiteDriver".
