bug: ReVanced Player keeps loading after 10 seconds of playback #141

This is a new type of buffering issue in the UK region There is no perfect solution other than using a ROOT build or using a vpn |
@inotia00 this is not only in the UK region, it happens in Romania as well. |
Google is currently blocking the ReVanced client for non-root users in some European regions |

I have found out the problem, i changed the email account with a new email and the problem got solved. This might be a blacklist of accounts from google directly as they might notice the high consumption of content without ads, so changing the email address will resolve the issue for an unknown period of time |
But that means you have to use a entirety new account to log in to YouTube right? Is there an easy and quick way to import all subscriptions from one account to another? |
For me, the official app started working again after uninstalling MicroG, but it might also just been coincidental because some kind of timeout occurred. What seems clear so far: it doesn't happen to everybody, it doesn't happen all the time (A/B testing?) but it gets worse (even VPNs and incognito mode are affected now). They also only seem to flag by device or app type, so even if the apps are affected, browser versions (even on the same phone, but also on smart TVs) still work. |
A/B testing seems to be what's going on, my wife used Vanced and Revanced and so far she hasn't had this issue. I wonder if it's also the device being used as you said? I'm getting a new phone in the next month or so and I'll definitely be checking this out. |
Just gonna dump the VPN honestly, I'd have to keep it running on top of YouTube (which I use often) which means my phone gets it's battery wiped out and reaches magma temperatures. 😵 |
I tried everything as well, but I believe the problem is not on vanced or microg, it started since the last updates of Android auto OR Android system WebView in every phone that uses it, to interfere the vanced and revanced apps, 'perhaps'. |
Very interesting I never thought of a generalized issue because in my case the official youtube app does not display the same problem but this could mean there's hope for some fix in the future |
I hope so... I am always suspicious of Android/Google *System Updates, and I noted this problem started since I updated both last month. This is a mess... lol |

So this issue is more deeply rooted than specifically YouTube. Could it be any video streaming app where you've logged in with your Google account then? We could test this with several apps and update here, I think it might be helpful for the devs to figure something out. |
I don't think so, since my vimeo, dailymotion and twitch are all different accounts from youtube. I also noticed the app 'Private computer services' which is useful for 'live caption' and 'now playing' features on videos is constantly asking for an update, for the second time in 2 weeks, and since they all are from Google LLC they must have something to so with it. If devs can have a look in all, ask them to check all these apps : There is a new app which is a new release called 'Google partner setup' and had no idea it was here since February 23rd. If something is being installed and written in the internal system causing all this problem, I am sure must be the recently system updates. Devs will work hard to find out how to solve this problem :/ |
Huh, wow... This is just getting more ridiculous by the day. I think I'm just gonna stay from Revanced for a while until something is figured out, I can't imagine repeatedly logging in with microG would be a good thing. Maybe that will give Google less incentive to A/B test. I can survive with the browser version for now, at least I can use YouTube normally without ads. There are still sponsors, but that's fine I guess. |
The reason I opt for webdesigner, not programmer lol In case of keeping trying vanced or revanced, just don't update all in once. I let the last one out of date and for 2 days it seems fine the YouTube in my mobile device. But don't forget to always clean your app cache and once in a while even your data doing the log out. Less you let information, less they collect it from you. |

@Shiroe93 Just to make sure, you enabled Settings > ReVanced Extended > Miscellaneous > It was included in the settings patch and disabled by default, so that could be it. |
