Background

This issue keeps track of the work that contributes to the objective to "Support the Interchain ecosystem and current Hermes users".

The work here mainly revolves around maintaining the current Hermes architecture, though we expect to have migrated to the next iteration of Hermes' architecture by v1.5. The scope of this objective also includes adopting upstream changes that align with the goals of Tendermint and the Cosmos SDK, as well as fielding questions / requests from ecosystem users.
