Seems like I'm kind of the only one with this kind of specific need. General question, how are you all dealing with your filenames, if you want to preserve the motion picture info. From what I tested, Google Photos only plays the motion picture if it has the .MP part, or has this been changed in the meantime, does any one of you know more about how that works generally? |

I have searched the existing feature requests to make sure this is not a duplicate request.

So, Pixel Motion/Portrait/etc. Pictures often have these kind of longer file extensions:
I want to rename my files with a YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.ext format to sort them later on. I think, I am also not alone in the fact that I don't like Pixel's UTC decision on filenames as well. Which is why I'd love to be using the "Storage Template" feature to rename my files to this logic.
Now, the problem is that Google Photos (and the Pixel Gallery app) don't recognize a Motion Picture without its ".MP.jpg" or similar extension. So, I'd like to keep that part of the filename intact. For this reason, it would be great if Immich had a feature which would make it achievable that I rename my files to be named like this:
I'm thinking a template variable like {{specialext}} that contains all file "extensions" after the first period would maybe do the trick. Could something like this be implemented?
