Hello,

It would be nice, if lua-mode was integrated into emacs-trunk.

Cheers, Peter

Yea, this would be cool.

I have contacted debian package maintainer requesting an update, but I've actually never though about lua-mode making it into trunk.

Will try that sometime.

Alright, actually, there's been some progress here: I guess, I've reached everyone who might have contributed to lua-mode during past 10 years, I have a questionnaire to be handed out for each of them and soon the whole thing will be over. Everyone willing to have lua-mode as a part of Emacs package, stay tuned :)

Great work; I tried and failed with this before.

Well, it appears that I've failed, too. I couldn't reach one of the "initial" maintainers to sign FSF papers and the process stalled. And since he had contributed before lua-mode started using git, his changes weren't properly formatted as git commits, so I couldn't localize them for partial rewrite leaving complete rewrite as the only option.

While this might change at some point in the future, it's highly unlikely to happen at the moment, sorry.
