iTMW deletes and re-copies entire folder each time I sync #47

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I connect my mp3 player (Sansa Clip 8Gb) via USB
2. I set up my preferences
3. I click 'Synchronise'

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the files on the mp3 player to sync with my selected playlist; for
iTMW to delete files from the player that are not in the playlist and add
files from the playlist that are not on the player.

My first sync takes a long time, but works. The player is filled with my
tracks so I think the preferences were set up OK.

But each time I go back to sync again, I get the message saying the plylist
will be copied to the mp3 player folder and that all the files in that
folder will be deleted. It then deletes ALL the files and re-copies them -
taking hours each time.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using iTMW 0.951 and iTunes 8.0.2 (20) on Mac OSX 10.4.11

Please provide any additional information below.

Update: Just tried syncing again. Not sure if it replaced all the tracks this
time,
but it certainly took just as long as if it had. About 2 hours. The bulk of the
time
seems to be taken up by iTMW reading iTunes data. The playlist I'm syncing
with is
only about 5.5Gb - should it be taking this long?

I am using 4GB Sansa Clip and it works perfectly. It didn't take anywhere near
2 hours the first time I filled it up.
Maybe 20 minutes for s.th. close to 4 GB. What does iTMW tell you when it is
finished, how many MBytes it
transfered?

I suppose your assumption is correct, that reading iTunes data is the problem.
Let me guess, you got around
200 GB of music in your iTunes Library? :)

I have a similar problem. I'm using an 8GB Sansa Clip+ and everything works -
it just takes a very long time. The reading iTunes data message comes up and
takes ages - even if I have only changed one song in iTunes.
Interestingly, I found that if I only select my podcasts playlist to be sync'd,
this does not bring up the reading iTunes data message and works perfectly and
very quickly.
Would much appreciate help getting iTMW to sync the rest of my iTunes content
this efficiently.
