.NET (Core) DLL files don't encode their version number in the filename. Under Windows one can simply check the file properties to see the assembly version, but under *nix systems exiftool can be used.
A new tag(s) may use pyexiftool as a wrapper. Given the amount of properties the exiftool can extract, maybe a new category just for it should be created.
I recon that this tag would play well with templs.
