Proper way to run a startup command

I'd like to persist the change in #90 and am wondering how I can automate the ifconfig rmnet_data0 mtu 1480 up command and startup. I'm not too familiar with this specialized OS

SSH to the modem and then paste this command

sed -i '/exit 0/i ifconfig rmnet_data0 mtu 1480 up' /etc/rc.local

To confirm that it was added:

cat /etc/rc.local

Do a reboot.

Thank you for your help! I've actually tried this and it has no effect upon startup. Made sure it was executable too. Any other ideas?

And for what it's worth it seemed that the reboot stalled and the modem never came back online. I had to do a hard power reset for it to come back on. I removed the rc.local and it didn't happen again.

Sorry I meant to come back to this. MTU modification would be nice to add right alongside TTL.
Probably can go into the custom firmware rules I created that merges into the primary one at boot (Quectel/Qualcomm thing)

/etc/init.d is where startup scripts are located and then if they are enabled to be started at boot they become symbolic linked to /etc/rc.d/ one for startup and one for shutdown for each enabled service from init.d. The symbolic link file name also indicates the order at which each is executed.

However it would be much better if this could go right alongside how we do TTL on this modem. Will revisit this soon. 👍
