The Human Reference Atlas aims to map all of the cells of the human body to advance biomedical research and clinical practice (Börner et al. 2021). A major challenge in constructing the HRA is combining data generated by the different consortia without a common ‘language’ or common coordinate framework (CCF) shared across them for describing and indexing the data in a spatially explicit and semantically consistent way. This community includes documents that explain the approaches and procedures by which the Human Reference Atlas is constructed as well as how the atlas is validated and used.
