Is this a new issue, and if so, what's the first build it started happening in, and the last one it did not happen in?

This issue was always present.

Likely to be a framebuffer copy issue of some sort as the video actually plays, it's just not displayed.

With "simulate block transfers" and "buffered rendering", right? Someone just commented on the forum that Loco Roco 1 has been fixed.

Tested with latest build. Same status. Degublog while blackscreen:

This was fixed (in a rather hacky way but still) a long time ago, closing.
