Hi-- Alan Sill messaged me about our podcast. We are listed on the page, but it would be good to update our link to our new website: scienceinparallel.org. I don't know if you have a way to bring in an RSS feed, but that would be the simplest way to display our most recent episodes. Thanks! Sarah Webb

We don't have current support for parsing RSS (but someone could jump on it). For the time being you can open a pull request and update the page content here https://github.com/hpc-social/hpc-social.github.io/blob/main/_projects/podcasts.md. I'd suggest providing links to the most common podcast venues (spotify, apple) and let people click to get the latest episodes.

I can't seem to open a pull request, so I'll revise the content here.

Science in Parallel focuses on people in computational science and their work simulating climate and the cosmos, understanding viral infections, building alternative energy strategies and more – using high-performance computing (HPC). Host Sarah Webb interviews researchers about their career paths and motivations. Our conversations have covered topics such as artificial intelligence, integrating emerging hardware, the effects of remote work, promoting diversity and inclusion, and the role of creativity in computing.

Science in Parallel has been shortlisted for the Publisher Podcast Awards: for 2022 Best Technology Podcast, 2023 Best Science and Medical Podcast and both categories in 2024. It is produced by the Krell Institute and is a media outreach project of the Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF) program.

Browse episodes on our website and subscribe via Apple podcasts, Spotify or your favorite platform!

Can I offer help here? You will need to:

  1. Fork the repository to your own username
  2. Clone your fork
  3. Checkout a feature branch e.g `git checkout -b update-science-in-parallel-podcast
  4. Make the changes, commit, and push to your fork
  5. Open a pull request to the upstream from your fork

Likely you were trying to push to here directly which is typically not possible on GitHub for projects you aren't a part of! The fork -> pull request steps I outlined above are the typical way it's done. Let me know if you have questions!
