Staking Season 8 Transition

Season 7 of the HOPR staking season ends on 26th July 2023 at 2pm CEST. The seventh HOPR staking season is due to start immediately afterwards. In order to ensure a smooth transition, various tasks need to be completed, mostly related to the staking smart contract and the staking website.

Changes from previous seasons

This season will be 50% shorter than all previous seasons, and run for just 45 days. No other major changes are planned from Season 7. The base parameters will stay the same. Network rewards will continue to operate in the same way (although the budget will increase and new metrics will be added). The NFT blacklist will expand to include the NFTs from Season 5.

Season 8 will start at 2pm CEST on July 26th and run until 2pm CEST on September 9th

• Set parameters: boost rate, boost cap, end date
• Create and Deploy Season 8 Subgraph and Smart Contract #333
• Move Season 7 staking to https://stake-s7.hoprnet.org #334
• Create and deploy Staking Season 8 website at https://stake.hoprnet.org #335
• Update network page and network rewards for Season 8 #336
• Create Dune Dashboard and the Community Nodes filter #339

After S8 starts:

• Protocol transit to Staking Season 8 #337

Deadline

The staking season has a hard deadline of 2pm CET on July 26th. Individual tasks may have their own deadlines.
