Variation using piscope captures

Thank you for your work and excellent write up on this process. I've tried to follow your tutorial, but I haven't been able to get pilight-debug to output anything (I think my hardware is probably incompatible).

I have found a work around that I'd like to get your input on. I am able to "record" samples of the remote buttons with piscope and can successfully operate the fan by playing them back. So my question is this: how difficult do you think it would be for me to re-write your code to basically execute a command line calling these individual samples? I think I can muscle through it, but any advice/help is appreciated.
