Companion App - Unable to connect on external URL, hit retry always works #4699

We need logs to continue please reproduce the issue and grab the logs. If you are unsure which is the error you can post the full logs and remove gps and your URL from them as we don't need that to troubleshoot. |

when the issue happens does it take 10 seconds for the pop-up to show up? we have a delay of 10 seconds where we wait for the server to respond to the app and it seems that were never notified the app connected to the server based on the logs. Just to confirm where you able to reproduce the issue before grabbing the logs here? |
No the message is shown directly. Every time I open up the app the issue is there. |
@R-dehaan please provide a screenshot of the error you see
@Kaibob2 please get us the companion app logs to confirm if you are experiencing the same issue. Please get the logs after reproducing the issue just like was asked earlier. |

This differs from mine as I cannot connect via the app at all as soon as I'm not home. Should I open my issue as a separate issue? |
@R-dehaan ok your error is a HA frontend error, that retry screen is not from the app itself. Please log a bug with the HA frontend and fill out their issue template completely. They ask for different data than we do. @Kaibob2 yes a separate issue as its completely unrelated, please make sure to fill out the issue template and provide the logs you just grabbed Closing as this is not a valid app bug. |

Description of problem, include YAML if issue is related to notifications:
When opening the companion app I always need to click retry to get into my dashboard.
Connecting directly on the local network goes without issues.
Companion App Logs:
I can post some of the logs, but they seem to be quite huge, any tips/tricks to post only the relevant section.

Additional information:
HomeAssistant is running on a VM and gets connected via reverse proxy.
No issues at all from this setup on laptop/desktop, only the companion app seems to have this behaviour
