Using the version 1.6.4. Portable Version (zip).
OS Windows 11.

Sound is set to TuxGuitar Sequencer and TuxGuitar Synthesizer.

Whenever the system goes into sleep mode or the screen is set off, no sound will be played anymore. That can happen while TuxGuitar is playing any song.
The song (or any other song) can be played but there is no sound anymore.

It's not possible to change the sound settings (TuxGuitar will not respond anymore).
Same result if using an older version of TuxGuitar (e.g. 1.5.6).

Note: I was using Windows 10 the last months, there I did not face that issue. Seems to be Windows 11 specific.

I think this is due to your operating system

I don't have a permanent access to a Win11 machine, but I could do a one-shot test on someone else's.
I started TuxGuitar 1.6.4 (standalone version) with default settings, played a song in loop mode so it plays permanently, and waited until screen became dark: sound continued playing normally.

I can confirm this issue! It's been going on for months, if not years! I have a memory this was an issue already in the last official version 1.5.6, maybe even earlier than that... And it's NOT Win11 specific, I have Win10!

I put my pc to sleep all the time. Often it can be on/off sleep for a week before I need to do a restart/shutdown, thus I have programs opened at all times. But when I have Tux on and put the pc to sleep, then upon reawakening Tux is half-frozen!

Also, there's seems to be 2 kinds of freeze issues:

  1. Sometimes Tux get super-lagged. Meaning I push play, the note cursor starts moving, but sound only comes about 5-10 seconds later and is equal amount late! This happens again if Stop is pushed and Play pushed again. Only solution is to restart Tux. But I'm not 100% sure if Tux could be even closed normally in this case other than from Task Manager, because I get this situation mixed with this ->
  2. This is the sleep cycle situation. In this case there is no sound at all, but all the buttons can be pushed and the song "plays", but the whole program is unresponsive, can't even close it other than from the Task Manager. After that it works normally.

I think situation 1 has happened when I've had Tux open in the background, but haven't used it in a few hours or so, but haven't had the pc in sleep mode, but upon returning to it it's now lagging. The screen might have gone dark in between (screen off issue?), but I can't be sure since both of these situations have happened SO many times that I get the details mixed....

This might be the oldest bug in Tux. I've waited for a fix with each version, but no... I'm actually shocked that this is the 1st time I've seen it mentioned! Maybe 99% of Tux user are Linuxers?

I keep my pc up to date, but only Tux has this issue, so it's 100% a Tux problem.
