gtk-2.0 theme issue

I love this theme, but it doesn't look right for me on gtk-2.0 apps: http://i.imgur.com/rjR5hNX.png. I've copied the Adwaita gtk-2.0 folder to the theme folder, checked the permissions, installed the Numix theme to get the murrine engine (even tried manually installed the gtk2-murrine-engine .deb from Launchpad), but my scrollbars and gtk2 applications still look bad.

The Adwaita theme looks good, and so does the Numix theme. The Fleche theme, however, has the same issue as Phosphene. (I'm on Ubuntu GNOME 14.04 nightly (which ships with GNOME 3.10 stable, I believe) if that matters.)

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Any recommendation on GTK2 theme, and are you planning on making an official GTK2 version?

Wouldn't it be possible to simply use Adwaita's GTK+ 2 theme files and change the various .png files?
