See e.g. tests-py/queries/graphql_query/boolexp/postgis/query_illegal_cast_is_not_allowed.yaml which ought to be status: 400 AFAICT. Many other instances in tests.

I briefly tried to triage in #5858 but am not immediately seeing the issue.
