Hi there, thank you for the effort on refining the Contributor documentations.

Based on my personal experience, I would like to get more guidance on the Running the Tests page about how to run acceptance tests from local. This includes:

  • What is the meaning and format of each required environment variable?
  • How to set all the required environment variables in bulk?
  • How to use my own Azure account instead of a service principal to run the tests?
  • How to troubleshoot the test results?

Thank you!

One more thing worth mentioning in the Test doc is that you need to run Git Bash with admin privilege to be able to run the test locally. Otherwise there will be an error like:
testcase.go:173: failed to create new working directory: unable to symlink directory "xxx" to "xxx": unable to symlink "xxx" to "xxx": symlink xxx xxx: A required privilege is not held by the client.
