This repository is a fork of the Armbian build system, tailored specifically for the ZNP-K1 Single Board Computer (SBC) used in Elegoo Neptune 4 series FDM 3D printers. This is a work-in-progress (WIP) custom build that aims to create a stable and optimized Armbian environment for the unique hardware configurations of the ZNP-K1, ensuring seamless integration with the Elegoo Neptune 4 series 3D printers.
As of this writing, there are three ZNP-K1 variants/versions: 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0. These versions will require different kernel/DTS patches as the DTB differs between them.
To build the Armbian image for ZNP-K1, follow these steps:

Clone the Repository
Clone this repository to your local machine using the command:git clone --depth=1 -b main https://github.com/halfmanbear/Armbian-ZNP-K1-build.git

Navigate to the Repository Directory

Run the Build Script
Run the build script with the following command:

This command initiates the build process with the following parameters:
BOARD=znp-k1
: Specifies the target board as ZNP-K1.BRANCH=current
: Uses the current branch of Armbian.RELEASE=bookworm
: Sets Debian Bookworm as the base release.BSPFREEZE=yes
: Freezes BSP (Board Support Package) for consistent builds.BUILD_MINIMAL=no
: Includes standard packages, not just the minimal set.BUILD_DESKTOP=no
: Skips desktop environment for a headless setup.KERNEL_CONFIGURE=no
: Avoids manual kernel configuration during the build.EXTRAWIFI=yes
: Includes additional Wi-Fi drivers for enhanced support.INSTALL_HEADERS=yes
: Installs kernel headers necessary for module development.
Feel free to modify these parameters as per your requirements.
- Builds custom kernel, image or a distribution optimized for low-resource hardware,
- Include filesystem generation, low-level control software, kernel image and bootloader compilation,
- Provides a consistent user experience by keeping system standards across different platforms.
- x86_64 / aarch64 machine
- at least 2GB of memory and ~35GB of disk space for VM, container or bare metal installation
- Armbian / Ubuntu Jammy 22.04.x for native building or any Docker capable Linux for containerised
- Windows 10/11 with WSL2 subsystem running Ubuntu Jammy 22.04.x
- Superuser rights (configured sudo or root access).
- Make sure your system is up-to-date! Outdated Docker binaries, for example, can cause trouble.

- Interactive graphical interface.
- Prepares the workspace by installing the necessary dependencies and sources.
- It guides the entire process and creates a kernel package or a ready-to-use SD card image.
