We need to get vinyl-fs to 2.0 before gulp 4 is released. There are still a number of things to complete and I made a list over at gulpjs/vinyl-fs#92

If you can help on any of those issues, please do!

This has been completed. However, I think we will be releasing a vinyl-fs 3.0 before the gulp 4.0 release. I will open an issue if we need any help on that.
