What steps would need to be taken? I thought we should write down what needs to be done so everything is transparent and items can be discussed and modified. The only cryptocurrency I own is gridcoin. Honestly, it is the only project the resonated with me. That being said, I will need to educate myself on a lot of the terms and process. But if I feel like I understand the proposal, I believe most people in community will too.

Forgive my ignorance.

Process

1) Proposal will need to be finalized

2) A gridcoin Development Poll will need to be voted on and pass 35% AVW

- Development polls are for changing some parts of Gridcoin at a protocol level. For instance changing the amounts for rewards would be a development poll.
These types of polls require a minimum duration of 6 weeks (42 days) and development polls require an AVW of more than 35% to pass.

3) Development

  • How will development be funded? Specifically
  • What is fundraising goal?
  • If new token is issued for funding, who is buying this?
  • What happens to current GRC. And how does that transfer to new token?
  • Are current Devs writing monitoring/bounties?
  • What Is a timeline?
Answer: On 05/23/2024 fireside, 3-6 month was proposed
  • When does the marketplace itself go live? (independent of gridcoin)
  • How does current blockchain play into new proposal?
  • New wallet?
  • How does a transaction work on marketplace? Are projects whitelisted? As a community are we vetting this work? Or is it an independent decision made by a cruncher?

4) Go live

That makes sense. I think the details of the development have to be figured out before a development poll is made. There are many ways to implement this, it really depends on how the community wants to use the codebase. It's a neutral protocol that anybody can use, and it has a lot of desirable properties that align with Gridcoin's mission.
