Is there a way to pass a space character to a URL Query Parameter so that it encodes to a %20?

When I add a space to a URL query parameter, the plugin appears to convert this to a "+". I can see this in my service logs.

I'm using an OData API and commands like the "OrderBy" require this https://www.odata.org/getting-started/basic-tutorial/#orderby
