Unable to enable dark variant

When using gnome theme tweak Version 42.1 and adwaita Version 45.1 I don't see extensions.gnome-theme-tweak.dark-variant in my about:config, and setting it to "2" has no effect.

Dark version is being controlled by the system's theme now, not the about:config setting. I do have the same issue in Firefox 49, the dark theme does not work. There must be a change in Mozilla's CSS, I will look into it.

The same issue here with Dark theme enabled on GNOME Desktop.

They just disabled the dark theme, see: here and here

For now, you can revert back to Firefox 46.

This is a damn shame, I thought I'd finished ricing when I found this nice dark theme-able add on, but ff 47 update has broke it. synasos is using ff 49 and has the same issue and bugzilla devs are talking about waiting for e10s. The future looks too bright.
