No ability to change "banner layers" to unlimited?

I know this doesn't belong in "issues" but I thought it would catch attention. I would really appreciate it if there was a ability to make banner layers go infinitely. I know a lot of people would like that as well.

this could allow people to go over the packet size limit, so it may not be ideal to have it completely unlimited.

I added a feature like that to the latest release of my extension mod, though it needs the mod to be installed on the client too, so it probably won't come to carpet or carpet-extra
