i know the linux world is quite fragmented but it would be nice to submit to flathub and besides being easier to update you would have more access

I'll read into the Flatpak documentation and see what I can do. In the meantime I would recommend using the AppImage instead.

Unfortunately I will not be able to provide Flatpak support until electron-builder provides flatpak build support. They recently added an experimental version here electron-userland/electron-builder#512 but when I tried to build it I got a pretty vague error message saying '⨯ flatpak failed with status code 1 failedTask=build stackTrace=Error: flatpak failed with status code 1'

I would like to provide Flatpak support in the future but I'm putting this issue on hold until electron-builder provides better documentation so I can solve the error. If anyone manages to successfully build a flatpak target in the meantime please let me know how you got it to work and I'll add it asap.
